DEVELOPMENT

LVEST - VIRTUAL LASER LAB - ITLC - OPEA-MAT - VPLAB - MCRLAB - TEAM project

LVEST

LVEST is an acronym for Virtual Laboratory for Education in Sciences and Technology . LVEST's research aims at building generic virtual laboratory in computer sciences field, mechanical and electrical engineering (this site is in french).

VIRTUAL LASER LAB

The Virtual Laser Lab, VLL, is designed to provide students with opportunities to undertake actual experiments, not just simulations over a WEB browser. The VLL would overcome a number of difficulties associated with "hands on" laboratory practice such as those related to lack of basic skills, safety, and accessibility. Viewers can see on a video window the experiment in operation and observe the results in real time.

ITLC

The ITLC is a unit of the College of Engineering, established to facilitate the development and delivery of course materials using innovative teaching and learning techniques (multimedia, computer mediated, broadcast, Web-based, etc.).

OPEA-MAT

OPEA-MAT is a courseware making more easier the teaching and learning of mathematics in sciences and engineering (this site is in french).

VPLAB

The Virtual Physics Laboratory (VPLab) is an on-line simulation-based learning environment allowing students to conduct "virtual experiments" which feature many characteristics and constraints normally associated with real experiments, such as: uncertainty inherent to measuring apparatus, small random fluctuations of parameters, and limitations in the range or control that the experimenter has over parameters and variables.

MCRLAB

The Multimedia Communications Research Laboratory (MCRLab) was founded in 1984. Today, it is investigating various aspects of Multimedia Broadband Communications.

TEAM project

The project relies an international virtual laboratory, addressing:
-The need to train students in actual aerospace and mechatronics technologies.
-Development of pedagogical concepts and course units offering innovative laboratory experiments with hardware via internet.
-Give students of the partner universities access to a set of motivating experiments via internet, as well as student and faculty member exchanges.
-Thus students profit from this transatlantic tele-education approach by training in advanced technology in an international environment.

Universités participantes au projet TEAM:
Université de sherbrooke
Université Victoria
Université de Toronto
